Step-by-Step Guide to Measuring Ring Size at Home
Method 1: Using a Ring You Already Own
- Select a ring that fits the intended finger perfectly.
- Measure the inner diameter of the ring in millimetres using a ruler or measuring tape.
- Use our ring size chart and calculator to convert the diameter measurement to the French/European size. For example, if your ring has an inner circumference of 7.5 cm, you can convert it to the corresponding ring size.
Method 2: Using a String or Paper Strip
- Cut a thin strip of paper or string
- Wrap it around the base of your finger.
- Measure the length of the marked section with a ruler (in mm). For example, if the measurement reads 7.5 cm, use the ring size conversion chart to determine the correct size.
- Refer to our ring size chart or calculator to find your ring size based on the circumference.

- Measure your finger at the end of the day when it's at its largest.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are cold, as this can result in a smaller size.
- If your knuckle is larger, measure both the base of your finger and your knuckle and select a size in between.
- When in doubt, choose a slightly larger size to ensure the ring slides over the knuckle comfortably.
