How a Vision Became a Global Brand
Dimitra Chouliaras, our founder and creative director, was born and raised in Athens, Greece. After earning a degree in Mathematics from the University of Athens, she embarked on a successful career in banking at one of Greece’s major financial institutions. However, in 2004, Dimitra took a bold step, leaving the corporate world to join her husband’s luxury silver trading business, which primarily operated as a B2B company importing fine silver goods from Italy.
Driven by her creative spirit, Dimitra began crafting Greek good luck charms, including the iconic evil eye talismans. When these charms were introduced to wholesale clients, they were met with overwhelming enthusiasm, selling out almost instantly. The demand for her designs grew rapidly, and before long, the charm section became the cornerstone of the business.
In 2008, Galleria Armadoro was officially launched, with Dimitra at the helm as the brand’s designer. Although she had no formal training in jewellery design, her innate sense of fashion and ability to tap into emerging trends resonated deeply with modern women. Since then, Galleria Armadoro has evolved into a globally recognised jewellery brand, sold by retailers around the world and supported by a thriving e-commerce platform.
Today, the brand continues to flourish, with Dimitra’s eldest son, Angelos Chouliaras, joining the business. Together, they are taking Galleria Armadoro to new heights, ensuring its legacy for the next generation.
